(Minneapolis, MN)  —  The Vikings are adding a former top pick to their quarterback room.  The team announced on Wednesday that Daniel Jones has been signed for the rest of the season.  He’ll earn just under 400-thousand dollars.  The sixth-overall pick in the 2019 draft became a free agent on Monday after the Giants released him.  Minnesota head coach Kevin O’Connell said Jones will join the practice squad.  The Vikings have starter Sam Darnold backed up by Nick Mullens and Brett Rypien.  Rookie gunslinger JJ McCarthy is on injured reserve with a knee injury.  Jones is a career 22-44-and-1 as a starter and has thrown for 70 touchdowns to go with 47 interceptions.
