(Eagan, MN) — The Minnesota Vikings got offensive line help with their first round selection of last night’s N-F-L Draft. Originally set to pick 14th overall, Minnesota traded that pick to the New York Jets for the 23rd overall pick and two additional third round slots. The Vikings then used the 23rd position to draft Virginia Tech offensive lineman Christian Darrisaw, who is six-foot-five-inches and 322-pounds.
General manager Rick Spielman says they looks to plug Darrisaw into the left tackle spot and hope for immediate impact.
The Vikes currently do not hold a second round selection, but do hold four spots in the third round and three more spots in the fourth round for now. Spielman hinted they could use some of that equity to trade into the second round, where they do not have a spot.
