Vikings Ink Lineman

February 13, 2018 By Minnesota News Network

The Minnesota Vikings couldn’t beat the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship game last month, but they are in the process of obtaining one of the winning side’s players.

Offensive lineman Josh Andrews signed with the NFC runner-up Vikings after spending last season with the Super Bowl championship Eagles.

The 6-foot-2, 311-pound Andrews will be joining new Vikings offensive coordinator John DeFillippo, who was hired earlier this month by the Eagles.

Andrews spent last season on the Eagles’ practice squad. Most of the playing time during his career has come on special teams.

With the Vikings, the 26-year-old Andrews will be reunited with former Oregon State teammate and offensive lineman Mike Remmers. Andrews most likely will be vying for a backup job in Minnesota. The 2014 undrafted free agent can play guard or center.

The Vikings are projected to have few offensive line vacancies next season. They return four starters in 2018. The only departure is right guard Joe Berger.
