Vikings notch OT win over Jags

December 7, 2020 By Minnesota News Network

(Minneapolis, MN) — Minnesota kicker Dan Bailey booted a 23-yard field goal with just 1:49 remaining in overtime to lift the Vikings past the Jacksonville Jaguars 27-24 in Minneapolis yesterday. Kirk Cousins threw three touchdown passes including two in the third quarter as the Vikes rallied from a 16-6 deficit. Dalvin Cook rushed for 120 yards for the Vikings, who have won five-of-six to even their record at 6-6. Jags Q-B Mike Glennon finished 28-of-42 for 280 yards, one T-D and two interceptions for Jacksonville, which slipped to 1-11. James Robinson ran in for a score with just over a minute to play in the fourth quarter. Glennon then connected with Collin Johnson for a two-point conversion to tie the game at 24. Both teams missed late field goals in regulation and the game went to overtime. Meanwhile, the Cardinals lost to the Rams, vaulting the Vikings into the seventh and final playoff spot in the N-F-C. Minnesota visits Tampa Bay on Sunday at noon.
