(Eagan, MN) — Minnesota Vikings quarterback J-J McCarthy is not likely to play Sunday against the Bengals at U-S Bank Stadium. Head coach Kevin O’Connell told reporters today that McCarthy suffered a sprained ankle in last night’s 22-6 loss to the Falcons.
O’Connell says McCarthy injured the ankle during Sunday’s 22-6 loss to Atlanta:
O’Connell said McCarthy is not expected to be available for the Cincinnati game and he anticipates veteran Carson Wentz will start. Former Q-B Gopher Max Brosmer will be the back-up. McCarthy threw two interceptions and lost a fumble in his first career start at home.
