Governor Tim Walz said today he hopes to make an announcement mid-week on what’s expected to be an extension of his stay-at-home order. Some criticize how long Walz has left that and some business closures in place. He responds, “If I thought it were healthy and I didn’t think this thing would spread, we would open up every business tomorrow.”
Walz says Minnesota is doing well in some areas on the stay-at-home order, but not so well in social distancing in recreation areas, “So I want to look at those things [and] see if there’s things that we can tweak and be able to implement.”
The governor indicates Minnesota should perhaps be aligned with federal guidelines which say, stay-at-home until the end of April.
