The Walz administration is expanding the list of those eligible for the COVID vaccine — emphasizing that people 65 and over, health care workers, and nursing home residents who have not yet been vaccinated still have top priority. The next two phases for vaccine eligibility include two groups: those with underlying conditions that put them at particular risk, plus targeted essential workers — specifically those in food-processing plants. The second group will be people 45 and older with one or more underlying health conditions identified by the CDC — and people 16 and older with two or more underlying medical conditions.
