Governor Tim Walz told an audience on Tuesday’s opening day of FarmFest near Redwood Falls that his goal is to make state government more responsive to farmers’ needs. The governor says he’s asking, “How we can be more deliberate and more effective in making sure that things that government should do, they do well — and the things that government shouldn’t do, we stay out of.”
Walz indicated areas of concern include health care, schools and property taxes. The governor says he wants to know if there are better ways to align state agencies to deliver services Minnesotans need.
