The temptation will probably be great for some this weekend, but Governor Tim Walz is encouraging Minnesotans *not* to go to bars which are now re-opened in neighboring Wisconsin. Walz says, “People are gonna make that choice on their own, but the thing I keep trying to convey is, it’s not about you not being afraid, and it’s not even necessarily you about your personal liberties. It’s about [how] that action will impact others.”
The governor has set a June 1st target date for bars and restaurants to re-open in Minnesota with COVID precautions in place. He said today June 1st is certainly a possibility but “not a guarantee”, depending on the course of the COVID pandemic in Minnesota.
