The price of insulin is the focus as Governor Tim Walz and Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan host a roundtable discussion at the State Capitol this morning (10am). A bill to set up a statewide insulin assistance program died in the closing hours of the special legislative session. Some say it was miscommunication while others blame it on politics. The governor indicated he’s been looking into possible executive action to move forward with an insulin program. He said Monday he’d prefer reaching agreement with legislators on changes to state law, but “if inaction is putting people at risk, we always reserve the right to use executive action. We just at this point in time don’t have enough information to say where we’re at.”
Some have suggested a special session around Labor Day.
