Governor Tim Walz is on Duluth’s Park Point this morning to highlight increases in state aid to cities and counties that he pushed for in the new state budget. A tax bill that Walz and Republicans agreed on includes a 26-million-dollar increase in local government aid and county program aid for year one, then 30 million dollars thereafter. The Walz administration calls it an historic increase that returns state aid to the level it was in the early 2000’s.
