As the trade war escalates with China announcing it will stop buying U-S farm products, Governor Tim Walz says plans are in the works for him to go to Japan and South Korea on a trade mission next month. “I’m out there basically selling the state to them because they’re really starting to find out– especially the Japanese will say this: They know the coasts real well. They’re finding out what we know here: really great work environment with really high work ethic, and they’re very interested,” Walz says.
The governor contends Minnesota farmers gathered at FarmFest in Redwood Falls face immense challenges resulting from the trade war with China.
