300 million dollars for over 70 infrastructure projects across Minnesota to protect and improve water quality — Governor Walz’s request to the legislature in part two of his state bonding proposal. He says, “These are the kind of critical projects we cannot ignore any longer. Investing in our state’s water quality future isn’t a choice — it’s an absolute imperative.”
Among the communities in Greater Minnesota that would get over 10 million dollars for water infrastructure projects under Walz’s plan: Foley, Lakefield, Dawson, Silver Creek Township, Two Harbors, Babbitt and Hoyt Lakes. Scores of others would receive grants ranging from a few hundred thousand dollars to ten million dollars.
The plan needs lawmakers’ approval. The legislature goes back into session next month.
