Top state officials say the first shipments of COVID vaccine will *not* cover all health care workers in Minnesota — and they don’t know yet, how many will initially receive it, or how long until all health care workers are vaccinated. Governor Tim Walz says, “The only thing right now to take the pressure off the hospitals is wear the mask, do not gather in gatherings, do and follow that guidance that’s out there to reduce the spread — because it’s not gonna be a magic bullet with the vaccine. It’s not as if we’re gonna give somebody a shot and then the next day everything’s back to normal.”
State officials expect to unveil their vaccine roll-out plan early next week. In neighboring Iowa, Governor Kim Reynolds predicts the Hawkeye State will receive 172-thousand doses of the COVID vaccine in December.
