Governor Tim Walz this afternoon (2pm) announces his plan to restore elective surgeries in Minnesota, which have been shut down since the COVID-19 pandemic took hold. Walz says the state’s medical capacity to handle COVID was in “pretty tough shape” at the start of April, but by the end of the month the state is “well-positioned.” The governor says, “We will have I-C-U capacity and ventilator capacity that is, raw numbers, greater than Illinois — with a population over two-and-a-half times bigger than us.”
The governor says restoration of elective surgeries will include dental procedures.
