Governor Tim Walz says he’ll unveil his plan Tuesday for Minnesota’s response to the federal government shutdown which could affect the state budget. Walz says some measures might require appropriations or other legislative action. Walz points to “the dysfunction of the federal government” saying, “If they’re not gonna lead on this, we will.”
Senate Republican Majority Leader Paul Gazelka (guh-ZEL-cuh) responds no one wins in a shutdown. He says, “We’ve been through a few in Minnesota and so, whatever you can do to find a way through is important, and so we’ll listen to Governor Walz’s proposals and go from there.”
