Governor Tim Walz is asking Minnesotans to please comply with the latest set of COVID restrictions that took effect last night (Fri) for bars, restaurants and private social gatherings. It comes as cases spike and officials say hospital resources are seriously stretched. The governor says, “[To] be candid with you on this, I just need folks to do this…. It’s putting people at risk. I need folks to follow along and get us through this.”
Walz seemed reluctant Friday to re-impose a statewide stay-at-home order because of how it could affect people — but indicated he’ll probably have to implement other restrictions. The governor said gatherings of young people in close quarters for extended periods of time are “certainly areas of concern.”
