The Minneapolis City Council has directed staff to research possible incentives for police officers to live within the city limits, reports the Star Tribune. The push has increased after last month’s officer shooting of Justine Damond. Police union head, Lieutentant Bob Kroll, says he has no problems with incentives. But Minneapolis Police Chief Medaria Arradondo says it’s not a top priority for him and he’ll “take character over residency every day of the week.”
