>>Twins Players Have Success In All-Star Game

(Atlanta, GA) — Minnesota Twins players Byron Buxton and Joe Ryan both had strong showings at the 2025 Major League Baseball All-Star Game in Atlanta last night. Buxton was 1-for-2 at the plate and smashed a one-out double that sparked a game-tying rally in the top of the ninth for the American League, while Ryan struck out two N-L hitters in one scoreless frame. Ryan only needed ten pitches to complete the fourth inning. The game was tied at six through nine innings before the American League lost in a swing-off. The Twins begin the second half of the season with a game against Colorado on Friday.

(Las Vegas, NV) — The Minnesota Timberwolves remain undefeated in the N-B-A Las Vegas Summer League with an 89-73 victory over the Detroit Pistons yesterday afternoon. Terrence Shannon Jr. scored 24 points in the victory, while Leonard Miller finished with 20. The Wolves are 3-0 in Summer League action. They take on Phoenix today at 4 P-M. (Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Lynx have one more game before the W-N-B-A All-Star Break hits. Minnesota owns the league’s best record at 19-4 and will host Phoenix for a matinee game today at noon at the Target Center. The match-up features two of the top teams in the W-N-B-A. The visiting Mercury are 15-6, which is the second-best mark this season. Phoenix has won three straight games, including a 79-71 win last Wednesday over Minnesota in Arizona. The Lynx beat Chicago on Monday night 91-78. Today’s game will wrap up a crazy stretch for Minnesota, which will have played 11 games over a 20-day period.

(Minneapolis) – You can add another player from the Minnesota Lynx to the W-N-B-A All-Star Game. Guard Kayla McBride was named to replace an injured player and will play for fellow Lynx player Napheesa Collier’s team. The Lynx now have three players heading to Indianapolis for this weekend’s game. Courtney Williams is the third member of the Lynx named to the game. This marks the seventh time in franchise history that Minnesota has three all-stars named in the same year. McBride is averaging 14.1-points per game this season and this marks her second all-star berth. The game will tip off at 7:30 P-M on Saturday in Indy.

(St. Paul, MN) — The Minnesota United will try to extend their point streak to five matches when they host LA-FC at Allianz Field tonight in St. Paul. The Loons just crushed San Jose 4-1 at home on Saturday. Minnesota is in second place in the M-L-S Western Conference with 40 points. LA-FC is currently sixth in the West. Minnesota head coach Eric Ramsay says they are self-critical, even when they play well, and that has helped them improve as the season has gone on. Tonight’s match kicks off at 7:30 P-M.

>>Target U-S-A Cup Draws nearly 1200 Teams from 27 States, 18 Countries

(Blaine, MN) — The 40th annual Target U-S-A Cup continues this week at the National Sports Center in Blaine. Communications officer Sara Soli (SOH-lee) says this is the largest youth soccer tournament in North America with nearly 12-hundred teams from 27 states and 18 countries. The players range from age 8-U to 19 and there are multiple division per age group and lots of games. Soli says they’re prepared for heat and possible severe weather. Last year’s Target U-S-A Cup had an economic impact of more than 36 million dollars on the state.

>>Vikings Receiver Jordan Addison’s Due Back In Court Thursday For Drunk Driving

(Los Angeles, CA) — Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison is due back in court on Thursday in Los Angeles for drunk driving. Addison appeared in court yesterday, and is due back Thursday morning for a pretrial hearing. He was arrested last summer when California Highway Patrol found him asleep at the wheel of a Rolls-Royce, while also blocking lanes of traffic. Addison pleaded not guilty in December to driving under the influence and driving with a point-eight percent blood alcohol content. According to E-S-P-N’s Adam Schefter, Addison could face a three-game suspension if he’s convicted. Meanwhile, the Vikings are set to open training camp next week at team headquarters in Eagan.

>>Cleveland Asks Judge To Stop Work On New Stadium

(Cleveland, OH) — Another entry is being added to the Browns’ stadium saga. Cleveland.com reports the city wants a judge to block all work on a new venue in Brook Park. Officials say the team’s current lease prevents ownership from starting construction on a new stadium. The Browns are obligated to play in Cleveland through 2028 and would be forced to find a temporary home afterward if the legislation passes.
