“It is difficult for us to relive those dark days,” says the Wetterling family the day before thousands of pages of investigation documents are released on Jacob Wetterling’s 1989 abduction and murder. The Wetterlings fought unsuccessfully in court to keep some of those files sealed, arguing they contain extremely private material. They said today in a statement, “Our hearts hurt for anyone who is pained or hurt from the release of this file. Clearly, changes are still needed.” The documents will be released after a Thursday morning news conference by Stearns County Sheriff Don Gudmundson.
