(Minneapolis, MN) — University of Minnesota women’s basketball coach Lindsay Whalen of Hutchinson admitted this week that her second season at the helm was one of the most challenging years of her entire basketball career. Whalen’s top player Destiny Pitts left the team in January. Whalen says it was a tough time, but she felt she had to stand up for what type of culture she wanted her program to stand for. Whalen and her Gopher coaching staff are currently working from home during this time of virus prevention. Whalen made her remarks this week during a podcast for the Gopher Sports webpage via Learfield/I-M-G College.
