Emily Dewey, the widow of murdered Mahnomen County Deputy Chris Dewey, has died reportedly of liver failure. Mahnomen County Sheriff Doug Krier says Dewey had been living in Colorado. Deputy Chris Dewey was shot in 2009 while on duty and died several months later. Thomas Fairbanks was convicted of the murder. She said in 2011, “He was sorry he got caught. I believe he’s sorry he’s on trial, but I’m not certain he’s sorry about anything else.”
