(St. Paul, MN) — Minnesota forwards Nino Niederreiter (NEE-noh NEE-der-RITE-er) and Charlie Coyle scored two goals apiece as the Wild doubled up the Colorado Avalanche last night in St. Paul, 6-3. Coyle had the go-ahead tally early in the third period and later added an empty-netter to seal the win. Jason Pominville had a goal and two assists for the Wild, who have won two in-a-row since a three-game skid. Devan Dubnyk (DOOB-nik) denied 30 shots in the victory. Jarome Iginla (ih-GINN-luh), Chris Bigras and Cody McLeod scored for Colorado, which has lost three of four. Semyon Varlamov (SEM-yon var-LAh-mov) yielded three goals on 12 shots before being lifted after the first period. The win puts the Wild into the final N-H-L Western Conference Wild Card spot. Minnesota is at Toronto tomorrow night.
