Minnesota Wild defenseman Christian Folin underwent arthroscopic surgery to repair a labral tear in his right shoulder on Monday.
The operation was performed by Dr. Brad Nelson at TRIA Orthopaedic Center in Maple Grove, Minn. Folin is expected to make a full recovery by the start of training camp, the Wild announced.
Folin initially sustained the injury on March 5 after being checked into the boards by San Jose forward Kevin Labanc during the first period of the Wild’s 3-1 victory over the Sharks.
The 26-year-old Swede was sidelined for three weeks before returning to play in seven more games.
Folin recorded two goals, six assists and 26 penalty minutes in 51 games this season. He has scored four career goals, set up 19 others and collected 50 penalty minutes in 118 contests, all with the Wild.
