(Newark, NJ) — New Jersey’s Devante Smith-Pelly posted two goals and an assist as the Devils blasted the Minnesota Wild last night in Newark, 7-4. Wild goaltender Devan Dubnyk was pulled from the game after allowing three goals. He was replaced by Darcy Kuemper (KEMP-er) who let four pucks slip into the net. Nino Niederreiter (NEE-no NEE-der-RITE-er), Jared Spurgeon, Justin Fontaine and Mikko Koivu all tallied for Minnesota. The Wild have lost four of five to fall one point behind Colorado for the final Wild Card playoff spot in the West. Minnesota entertains Carolina tomorrow afternoon at 1 P-M.
