Wild fall to Avalanche on road

February 3, 2021 By Minnesota News Network

(Denver, CO) — The Colorado Avalanche scored a goal in the first and second period to jump to a 2-0 lead and held on to beat the Minnesota Wild last night in Denver 2-1. Colorado got goals from Logan O’Connor and Valeri Nichushkin before Wild rookie Kirill Kaprizov cut the lead in half on a power play marker at 13:05 of the second. But, that’s as close as Minnesota could get, falling to 1-2 in the first three games of the four-game series against the Avalanche. The Wild played without Kevin Fiala, Marcus Foligno, Marcus Johansson and Matt Dumba plus lost captain Jared Spurgeon at the end of the second period and did not return. Tomorrow’s game between the Avs and Wild faces off at 8 P-M.
