(St. Louis Park, MN) — The Wild took their practice outdoors on Thursday morning to the outdoor facility at the St. Louis Park Rec Center. Everyone participated other than Mikko Koivu (flu) and Carson Soucy (maintenance). A standing room only crowd was in attendance, including a number of young kids, to watch Wild head coach Bruce Boudreau run his team through various drills to prepare for return to game action this weekend in St. Paul.

Wild center Eric Staal skated with his teammates at the ROC in St. Louis Park on Thursday morning.
MNN’s Kevin Falness talking outdoor hockey with Wild center Eric Staal:
The outdoor practice came on the heels of the N-H-L announcing that the Wild will host the 2021 Winter Classic next New Years Day at Target Field. As of yet an opponent has not been announced but the leading candidates seem to be St. Louis, Colorado or Winnipeg. Speaking of the Jets, that’s what’s up next for the Wild on Saturday afternoon at 1 P-M from Xcel Energy Center.
