Prior to the game, the N-H-L and Minnesota Wild announced schedule changes for the Wild for the remainder of the regular season. The changes were necessary due to the problems the Avalanche are having with the team going through Covid issues. The changes will result in the Wild getting Monday, April 26th off and a seven game homestand from April 28th through May 8th. The regular season will now conclude with a final two game set in St. Louis on May 12th and 13th. In fact, the Wild will face the Blues five times in the final nine games.
