Jared Spurgeon scored twice

The Dallas Stars held off a late-charging Minnesota Wild squad to move on to the NHL Western Conference semifinals.

Dallas built a 4-0 lead through two periods and withstood a four-goal Wild third period to win the game 5-4, and take the best-of-seven set four-games-to-two.  Minnesota nearly scored a game-tying goal with 33-seconds left, but officials concluded the puck missed crossing the goal line by millimeters.  Kari Lehtonen made 25 saves in the series-clinching victory.    Jared Spurgeon scored twice during the wild third period for Minnesota.  Devan Dubnyk allowed all five goals on 24 shots in defeat.

The Stars will face either St. Louis or Chicago in the West semifinals.
