(Las Vegas, NV) — The Wild couldn’t recover from a groggy start and ended up losing 3-2 to the Golden Knights. Jonathan Marchessault scored at the end of the second when Matt Dumba turned over the puck to Reily Smith to put Vegas up 3-0. The Wild scored twice in the third on goals from Jared Spurgeon and Ryan Hartman but they couldn’t close the game and see their four game win streak come to an end. Cam Talbot got the start and made 32 saves in defeat. The Wild went 0-for-6 on the power play despite nine shots with the extra man.

Jared Spurgeon scored his third goal of the season in Thursday loss to the Golden Knights.
The loss drops Minnesota to 1-1-0 to start the three game road trip which concludes on Saturday night in Seattle. The Wild fell to the Kraken 4-1 last month at Climate Pledge Arena. Seattle has dropped three straight including Thursday night to the Ducks. Puck drops at 9 P-M on Saturday night between the Wild and Kraken.
