February 6, 2022 By kevin.falness@mnnradio.com

(Las Vegas, NV) — Both goaltender Cam Talbot and forward Kirill Kaprizov did their part to entertain N-H-L fans at the All Star weekend in Las Vegas. Friday night in the skills competition, Kaprizov impersonated fellow Russian Alex Ovechkin in the breakaway challenge including using a right handed stick and wearing a No. 8 Washington Capitals jersey. Saturday, Talbot did his part to help advance the Central team to the final game before falling short to the Metropolitan Division. Both players were first time All Stars.

The Wild will return to TRIA Rink in St. Paul as the All Star break officially comes to an end this morning for the Minnesota Wild and the National Hockey League. The Wild finished the first half with a 5-0 shutout of the Blackhawks on Wednesday night in Chicago to extend their winning streak to six and their point streak to 10. They also set a franchise record for wins (28) through 41 games with the victory. Now the Wild will practice this afternoon in St. Paul and then head to Winnipeg where they’ll face the Jets tomorrow night to drop the puck on the second half of the season. The Wild have won both of the previous two match ups with the Jets but tomorrow night will be their first trip of the season to Winnipeg. Face off is set for 7 P-M on Tuesday night.
