(St. Paul, MN) — The Wild were busy trying to fill holes in their line up yesterday in Day 1 of N-H-L Free Agency. They signed 34 year old goaltender Calvin Pickard to a one year, $1 million contract plus former Wild draft pick Mason Shaw to a two way contract to help with both the N-H-L and A-H-L club. Pickard has played in 11 seasons including the last three years in Edmonton and will help fill the void left by Filip Gustavsson, who will miss the start of the season recovering from off season surgery. Shaw, 27, was a fourth round pick by the Wild in 2017 and his only N-H-L experience has been with the Wild. The Wild also signed both defenseman Zach Bogosian and forward Nick Foligno to one year contracts. Both could’ve hit the open market as unrestricted free agents. In other news, forward Mats Zuccarello signed a one year contract for $1 million plus bonuses with the Los Angeles Kings.
