(Winnipeg, MT) — Yakov Trenin’s goal with :61 seconds left in overtime lifted the Wild to a 3-2 O-T victory over the Jets. Winnipeg went up 2-0 early in the hockey game while outshooting Minnesota 8-0 in the process. But the Wild climbed back in with Trenin’s first goal early in the second period and then tied the game at 2-2 when Hunter Haight scored on the power play. That set up for Trenin’s O-T winner and the Wild win their preseason opener. Goaltender Jesper Wallstedt got the win on 21 saves. Their second preseason game is Tuesday in Dallas at 7 P-M. The exhibition home opener is Thursday in a rematch with the Stars at Grand Casino Arena.
