(St. Paul, MN) — Despite a good start and a frantic finish the Wild fell 6-3 to the Stars on Sunday afternoon in St. Paul. Nico Sturm opened the scoring with his ninth of the season midway through the first period but the Stars responded with four consecutive goals including two on the power play. Kirill Kaprizov made things interesting with two goals in the final four minutes but the Stars scored twice into an empty net to finish the victory. Kaapo Kahkonen was chased from the game after stopping 17 of 21 shots and suffers his fourth straight loss. The win pulled the Stars even with the Wild for third place in the Central Division with 67 points each. Blaine’s Riley Tufte scored his first N-H-L goal for the Stars in the win and Lakeville North’s Jake Oettinger made 32 saves against his hometown team. The Wild host the Rangers on Tuesday at 7 P-M.
