Will officials release officer body camera video before the investigation into the police-involved death of George Floyd is complete? State Public Safety Commissioner John Harrington says he’ll have to check with the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office about whether that would prejudice a jury. Harrington says, “There is typically a tipping-point that there is a public interest that is overriding the normal rules of criminal procedure of keeping evidence confidential until the case is presented.”
Harrington promises an expeditious investigation and says “we are probably talking weeks, rather than months.”
