A winter storm warning remains in effect through Thursday morning in northeastern Minnesota for the northern two-thirds of Saint Louis County, plus Lake and Cook counties. Forecasters say Ely could get nine inches of snow; eight inches possible in areas of the Iron Range; up to seven inches in Grand Marais, with lesser amounts further down the North Shore. It’s expected a wintry mix will transition into heavy, wet snow. Roads are expected to be slick and snow-covered.
