The Wisconsin D-N-R is trying to find out who illegally shot an albino deer near Gordon, about 40 miles south of Duluth-Superior. The Duluth News Tribune reports investigators have no leads and believe the animal was killed prior to the nine-day gun deer opener. A hunter in Pepin County in far western Wisconsin shot an albino deer last weekend and was given just a warning after telling authorities he only saw the brown at the top of its head. It’s been illegal to shot an albino deer in the Badger State since 1940.
