The Minnesota Timberwolves announced the team has signed guard Nojel Eastern. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not released.
Eastern, 6-5, has appeared in 68 games (38 starts) in two seasons with the Iowa Wolves, the NBA G League affiliate of the Timberwolves, averaging 9.8 points on 50.4% shooting, 5.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.3 steals in 27.0 minutes per game. This past season, Eastern saw action in 29 games (23 starts) for Iowa, averaging career highs in points (12.9 ppg), shooting percentage (51.4%), including three-point shooting (41.9%) and assists (2.9 apg), to go along with 5.4 rebounds and 1.4 steals in 30.0 minutes per game. On February 8, he tallied a career-high 34 points on 12-of-15 shooting, including 5-of-5 from three, five rebounds and two steals, leading the Wolves to a 125-120 victory over the Stockton Kings.
The Evanston, Ill. native appeared in 104 career collegiate games (62 starts) over three seasons with Purdue University earning All-Big Ten Defensive First Team honors in 2019 and 2020 and recording career averages of 5.1 points on 46.6% shooting, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in 21.9 minutes per contest.
Most recently, Eastern played in and started one game for the Timberwolves during their entry in the 2025 NBA 26K Summer League in Las Vegas, recording four points, four rebounds, two steals and a block.
