• Naz Reid came off the bench to lead the Timberwolves tonight with a season-high 25 points on 9-of-13 shooting, including 5-of-7 from deep and nine rebounds in 25:59 minutes of action off the bench, marking his first 20+ point game of the season (30th career) and his seventh 10+ point game off the bench this season (145th career). Tonight also marks Reid’s first game of the season off the bench with 20+ points/5+ rebounds/5+ 3PM (third career). Reid becomes the fifth player in the NBA to record such a stat line off the bench this season and his three such career games are the most in franchise history.
• Tonight also marked Reid’s fifth career 25+ point game off the bench, tied for the second most such games in franchise history.

• Anthony Edwards finished the night with 21 points on 6-of-11 shooting, including 4-of-6 from three and five rebounds, marking his seventh 20+ point game of the season (198th career). Edwards’ 198 career 20+ point games are the fourth most in franchise history.

• Edwards has now scored 20+ points in all seven of Minnesota’s games to start the season, marking the fourth-longest streak of 20+ point games to start a season in franchise history.

• Edwards scored 10 of his 21 points in the first quarter, shooting a perfect 3-of-3 from beyond the three-point line, marking the third time this season he has made 3+ threes in a quarter (50th career) and just the 11th time in his career doing so without a miss from deep.

• Edwards also finished the first half with 16 points, marking his 10th consecutive half scoring 10+ points, his third longest streak of 10+ point halves in his career and the longest such streak for a Timberwolf since he scored 10+ points in 18 consecutive halves last season.

• Julius Randle added 13 points, four rebounds and four assists on the night, marking his seventh 10+ point game of the season (562nd career). Following tonight’s performance, Randle has totaled 150 points, 45 rebounds and 33 assists in his first seven games with Minnesota. No other player in franchise history has eclipsed 150+ points/40+ rebounds/30+ assists in their first seven games in a Timberwolves uniform.

• In 28:17 minutes of action off the bench tonight, Donte DiVincenzo finished with 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting, including 3-of-6 from deep, five rebounds, two steals and two blocks, marking his fourth 10+ point game off the bench this season (62nd career). DiVincenzo joins Aaron Wiggins as the only other guard to record such a stat line off the bench this season and just the seventh guard in franchise history to do so.

Team Notes

• The Wolves held the Hornets to 93 points in tonight’s victory, the first time this season Minnesota has held an opponent to 100 points or fewer. Last season, the Timberwolves led the NBA with 27 games holding an opponent to 100 points or under, going 24-3 (.889).

• After falling Saturday night to San Antonio, the Timberwolves picked up the victory tonight over Charlotte, 114-93, moving to 3-0 on the season following a loss. In 2023-24, Minnesota was an NBA-best 21-4 in games following a loss.

• Minnesota held Charlotte to 39.8% (35-of-88) from the field in tonight’s contest, marking the first time this season the Wolves have held an opponent to 40% or below from the field. Last year, the Timberwolves led the NBA in holding opponents to 40% or under from the field, doing so 23 times, going 20-3 (.870) when doing so.

• Additionally, the Timberwolves held the Hornets to just 23.8% (10-of-42) from three in tonight’s win, marking the second time this season Minnesota has held their foes under the 30.0% mark from deep. Last season, the Wolves held their opponents to 30.0% or below from three 25 times, going 24-1 when doing so, the second most such games in the NBA and the most such wins.

• In holding Charlotte under 40.0% shooting from the field and under 30.0% from three, tonight marked the first time this season Minnesota held their opponents below 40.0% shooting from the field and under 30.0% shooting from three, becoming the sixth team in the NBA this season to do so. Last season, the Timberwolves accomplished the feat an NBA leading 16 times, going 15-1.
