Player Notes
• Anthony Edwards led Minnesota in tonight’s win over Oklahoma City with a team-high 26 points, a season-high 12 rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks, marking his 15th 25+ point game of the season (203rd career), his first 25+ point/10+ rebound showing of the year (17th career) and his first point/rebound double-double of the season (28th career).
• Tonight’s performance marks Edwards’ fourth career game with 25+ points, 10+ rebounds, multiple steals and multiple blocks and his first since doing so on March 16, 2024 against Utah. Edwards is the 13th NBA player to log such a game this season. He is tied with Al Jefferson for the third-most games in Timberwolves history before turning 25 years old.
• Julius Randle finished tonight’s victory with 19 points, eight rebounds, and five assists, marking his 26th 15+ point game of the season (518th career) and his 15th 15+ point/5+ rebound/5+ assist performance of the year (199th career).
• Randle is currently one of only three frontcourt players leading his team in total minutes (947), points (640) and assists (160), along with Nikola Jokic and Deni Avdija.
• As Randle hit 12 of his 16 attempts (75.0%), this showing marks his fourth career game reaching 75.0% on at least 15 free throws attempted and his first time doing so since Nov. 21, 2024 vs. Toronto. He ended tonight’s career-high-tying and game-high 16 free throw attempts, marking his first game this season with 15+ attempts from the line (fourth career) and his first time reaching that mark since doing so on Nov. 21, 2024 vs. Toronto.
• In 30:39 minutes off the bench, Naz Reid recorded 15 points on 5-of-10 shooting, six rebounds, two assists, and a season-high-tying and game-high-tying three steals, marking his 16th 15+ point game of the season (131st career) and his 13th 15+ point/5+ rebound showing of the year (96th career). Tonight marks his sixth performance with 15 or more points, at least five rebounds and multiple steals (24th career).
• Rudy Gobert finished with a game-high 15 rebounds, marking his fifth 15+ rebound showing of the season (235th career). Gobert is now on a four-game streak of grabbing 10+ rebounds, a run that began on Dec. 12 vs. Golden State, tied for the second-longest active streak in the NBA. This stretch marks the 52nd time he has strung together at least four qualifying games in his career.
Team Notes
• After tonight’s win, Minnesota is now 12-6 (.667) against Oklahoma City since 2021-22, marking the best record by any team against the Thunder over that span, and three more wins than any other team (Golden State & Houston – nine).
• With 13 made three-pointers tonight, the Timberwolves have now made 10 or more threes in 37 consecutive games. That is the longest streak in franchise history, and the second-longest active streak by any NBA team (Golden State – 38).
• Led by Edwards (26 points), Randle (19 points), Donte DiVincenzo (15 points), Reid (15 points), Bones Hyland (13 points) and Jaden McDaniels (13 points), the Timberwolves finished the night with six players scoring 10+ points, marking the 10th time this season Minnesota had six or more players score 10+ points.
• Led by Gobert’s game-high 15 rebounds, Minnesota finished the night with 57 boards, the second most rebounds in a game this season for the Wolves and the third time this season they have recorded 55+ rebounds. The Timberwolves are averaging 52.3 rebounds per game in their last three games (Dec. 14 – Dec. 19), the third best mark in the NBA during that span.
• Tonight, the Wolves attempted a season-high 47 free throws, becoming just the seventh team this season to clear the 45-attempt mark this season. Tonight marks the most free throw attempts since shooting 53 attempts from the line on Feb. 10, 2016 against Toronto.
