Player Notes
• Rudy Gobert led the way for the Timberwolves tonight with a playoff career-high and team-high 27 points on 12-of-15 shooting, a new playoff career-high and game-high 24 points and two blocks, becoming the first player in NBA Playoff history to record 25+ points on 80.0%+ shooting and 20+ rebounds in a series clinching win, just the second player in franchise history to record 20+ points/20+ rebounds in a playoff game (4x, Kevin Garnett) and the first player in NBA Playoff history to record such a game in a series clinching game on the road since Shaquille O’Neal did so in Miami on May 4, 2006 (30 points and 20 rebounds).

• Tonight marked Gobert’s 17th career playoff game with 10+ points/10+ rebounds/2+ blocks, tied for the sixth most such games among all active players, becoming the 33rd player in NBA history to record 17+ such games and his 10th playoff double-double in a Timberwolves uniform, joining Garnett (39) and Karl-Anthony Towns (20) as the only players in Wolves franchise history to record 10+ playoff double-doubles.

• Gobert tallied 15 points and, eight rebounds and one block, becoming just the third player in franchise history to record 15+ points and 8+ rebounds in a single half of a playoff game (Garnett, 8x and Towns, 2x).

• Julius Randle added 23 points on 8-of-16 shooting and five rebounds, marking his fourth consecutive 20+ point game of the 2025 NBA Playoffs and his 10th such game of his career. His four consecutive 20+ point games mark a career long streak.

• With his 23 points, Randle has now scored 97 points in this NBA Western Conference First Round series, the most points he has scored in a playoff series, surpassing his previous career-playoff high of 93 points scored against the Miami Heat in the 2023 NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals series as a member of the New York Knicks.

• Anthony Edwards ended the night with 15 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists, marking his first 10+ point/10+ rebound game of this year’s playoffs and the third such game of his playoff career.

• At the 3:25 mark of the second quarter, Edwards recorded his second steal of the night, giving him his 17th multi-steal playoff game of his career. Only Garnett has recorded more multi-steal games than Edwards in franchise history.

Team Notes
• With tonight’s series clinching win, the Timberwolves advance past the First Round of the Western Conference Playoffs for the second consecutive season, marking the first time in franchise history they have moved past the First Round in consecutive seasons and the fifth overall playoff series the team has won.

• Led by Gobert’s game-high 24 rebounds, the Timberwolves outrebounded the Lakers 54-37 marking the first time during this year’s playoffs the Wolves recorded 50+ rebounds and the 11th time doing so in franchise playoff history.

• The Wolves second unit outscored the Lakers 22-4 in tonight’s Game 5 win. Minnesota’s bench outscored the Laker bench in all five games during the series for a +79-point bench advantage. This is just the second time in franchise history the Wolves won the bench scoring battle in each game of a playoff series (2000 NBA Playoffs Western Conference First Round vs. Portland Trailblazers; +34).
