Player Notes
• Anthony Edwards finished with a career-high 28 points on a career-best 10-of-20 shooting, including a career-high-tying 5-of-10 from deep, seven rebounds, five assists and two blocks, marking his seventh 20+ point game of the season. Edwards becomes the fourth Timberwolves rookie (sixth time overall) to record a stat line of 25+ point/5+ rebound/5+ assist in a game and the first since Karl-Anthony Towns did so on Mar. 5, 2016 vs. Brooklyn.

• Tonight marked the second time Edwards has knocked down five threes in a game this season, becoming the fifth Timberwolves rookie and first since Zach LaVine (2015) to have multiple games with 5+ three-pointers.

• At the final buzzer, Karl-Anthony Towns scored 15 points on 7-of-10 shooting. He added six rebounds and four assists on the night. With his second assist of the game, Towns passed Terry Porter for 11th on the Timberwolves All-Time assists list with 1,019 (currently 1,021).

• Towns connected on one three-pointer tonight and has made at least one three in 43 straight games, the longest such streak in team history and the longest such streak in NBA history by a center.

• Ricky Rubio collected 13 points on 5-of-12 from the field and a game-high eight assists. This accounts for his third 10+ point game of the season (second in a row) and the 18th time leading the Wolves in assists.

• Malik Beasley made three three-pointers on the night, eclipsing 400 career three pointers (currently 402).

• Jarred Vanderbilt grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds tonight, marking his fourth 10+ rebound game of the season and his career.

Team Notes
• The Timberwolves connected on 16 shots from deep, marking their10th time this season with 15+ three-pointers (sixth time in a row) in a game.

• The Timberwolves reserves contributed 33 points, their 26th game of the season scoring 30+ points. Coming into tonight Minnesota’s reserves ranked second in the NBA in scoring (40.8).

• With Minnesota eight steals in the first quarter, the team tied the franchise most steals in a quarter (Most recently: vs. L.A. Clippers (3rd) on Nov. 12, 2016.

 

Lakers Notes

• LeBron James has contributed a game-high 30 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and dished out seven assists, good for his 16th double-double of the season. Tonight marked the fifth time the season James has scored 30+ points.
