Player Notes
• Anthony Edwards led the way for the Timberwolves tonight with a game-high 44 points on 13-of-19 shooting, including 7-of-11 from three and 11-of-13 from the free throw line, five rebounds, one steal and one block, marking his eighth 40+ point game of the season (18th career). Edwards’ 44 points are the most points ever scored against the Grizzlies by a Timberwolves player in franchise history and his eight 40+ point games are the most such games in a single season in franchise history.

• Edwards scored 25 of his 44 points in the first half of tonight’s contest, marking the 10th time this season Edwards has scored 25+ points in a single half (27th career). Edwards’ 10 25+ point halves are the most in the NBA this season and the most such halves by any Timberwolves player dating back to the 1997-98 season. Edwards’ 27 career 25+ point halves are also the most such halves in franchise history dating back to the 1997-98 season.

• After scoring 32 points in his previous matchup against the Grizzlies on Jan. 20 in Memphis, Edwards joins Sam Cassell as the only players in franchise history to score 30+ points in consecutive games against the Grizzlies and the only player in franchise history to do so in consecutive road games.

• In knocking down seven threes in tonight’s game, Edwards recorded his 69th game this season with multiple three-point makes, the most such games in franchise history and tied with Detroit’s Malik Beasley for the most such games in the NBA this season.

• At the 0.45.5 mark of the second quarter, Edwards recorded his first steal of the night, giving him 87 steals on the season and the 500th steal of his career. At 23 years and 248 days old, Edwards is the youngest player in franchise history to record 500 steals. Edwards’ five rebounds on the night gives him 2,007 boards for his career, making him the second-youngest player in the NBA since the 1983-84 season to record 2000+ rebounds and 500+ steals.

• With his seven made threes and 11 made free throws, Edwards now has 312 made threes this season and 409 made free throws, joining James Harden (2018-19: 378 3PM and 754 FTM) as the only two players in NBA history to make 300+ threes and 400+ free throws in a single season.

• Julius Randle ended the night with 31 points on 13-of-22 shooting, including 5-of-10 from three, 10 rebounds and five assists, marking his third 30+ point game of the season (85th career) and his first 30+ point/10+ rebound/5+ assist game of the season (21st career). The Wolves move to 25-10 when Randle scores 20+ points this season and 3-0 when he scores 30+ points.

• Randle scored 14 of his 31 points in the third quarter of tonight’s game, marking the third-most points he has scored in any quarter this season and the 15th time this season he scored 10+ points in a quarter (242nd career).

• With Edwards (44 points) and Randle (31 points) each scoring 20+ points, tonight marks the 31st time this season both players have eclipsed the 20-point mark, tied for third-most such games by any duo in the NBA this season and the third-most 20+ point games by any duo in a single-season in franchise history.

• With their 141-125 win, the Timberwolves are now 58-54 (.519) against the Grizzlies all-time, their second-best win percentage against any Western Conference opponent in franchise history (Sacramento Kings – .522).

• Led by Edwards’s 18 points, the Wolves outscored the Grizzlies 52-25 in the third quarter of tonight’s contest, marking the most points scored by any team in the third quarter in the NBA this season, the most points scored in any quarter in Timberwolves franchise history and the most points ever given up in a single quarter in Grizzlies’ franchise history.

• Per OPTA STATS, Minnesota’s 52-point third quarter marked just the fifth time since the 1951-52 NBA season that a team scored 52+ points in the third quarter of a game (includes regular and postseason) and the first time a road team scored 52+ points in the third quarter since the Atlanta Hawks scored 54 points against the San Diego Rockets on Feb. 11, 1970.

• Following tonight’s win, the Timberwolves are now 15-4 since March 1, the third best record in the NBA during that span (Oklahoma City: 18-3, Boston: 17-3). Since the 2021-22 season, the Timberwolves are now 52-28 (.650), owning the second-best record in the NBA in games played from March 1 through the end of the season.

Randle joins Edwards (312 3PM), Naz Reid (174 3PM), Donte DiVincenzo (168 3PM), Nickeil Alexander-Walker (138 3PM), Mike Conley (127 3PM) and Jaden McDaniels (recorded 100th 3PM of season tonight), who have all made 100+ threes this season, the most players with 100+ made threes in a single season in franchise history.

• In scoring 141 points tonight, Minnesota has scored at least 100 points in 56 straight games, extending the longest active streak in the NBA and the longest streak in Timberwolves’ franchise history (previous record was 40 straight games, set last season). Tonight marks the 10th time in franchise history the Wolves have scored 140+ points.
