Player Notes
• Jaden McDaniels led the way for the Timberwolves with a team-high 25 points on 10-of-17 shooting, including 3-of-4 from three, a game-high-tying two steals and two blocks, marking his seventh 25+ point game of the season (15th career) and his ninth game of the season with multiple steals and blocks (30th career). McDaniels is now tied with Christian Laettner for the sixth most games in franchise history with 2+ blocks and 2+ steals.
• Julius Randle ended the night with 24 points, six rebounds, six assists and a game-high-tying two steals, marking his 36th 20+ point game of the season (367th career) and his 16th 20+ point/5+ rebound/5+ assist game this season (153th career) and 32nd such game with the Timberwolves.
• After collecting two steals in tonight’s matchup, Randle now has 12 steals over his last five games, his most steals over a five-game span in his career, passing his previous career-high over a five-game span of 11 steals. (March 13-21, 2021).
• Rudy Gobert was force tonight, finishing with 14 points, a game-high 14 rebounds and a game-high five blocks, marking his 30th double-double of the season (506th career) and his 10th consecutive season with 30+ double-doubles, tied with Denver’s Nikola Jokić for the NBA’s longest active streak. Tonight also marked his second game of the season with 10+ points/10+ rebounds/5+ blocks (41st career) and his seventh such game with the Timberwolves. Gobert is one of five players in the NBA this season to record multiple such games, his seven such games with the Timberwolves are the third-most in franchise history and his 41 such career games are the third-most in the NBA since Gobert entered the league in the 2013 NBA Draft.
• With his five blocks tonight, Gobert became the first Wolves’ player with 4+ blocks in consecutive games since Naz Reid also recorded back-to-back four-block games on November 30 – December 3, 2022. In recording four blocks before halftime tonight, Gobert recorded four of his five blocks in the first half, becoming just the second player in the NBA in the past three seasons to record 4+ blocks in a single half in consecutive games (Victor Wembanyama, 3x, MR: Oct. 24 – 26, 2025).
• Additionally, Gobert recorded two of his five blocks in the first quarter of tonight’s contest after recording four blocks in the first quarter against Boston on Sunday. Gobert is the first Timberwolves player to record 6+ blocks over a span of two first quarters since Eddie Griffin also recorded six blocks in two first quarters on Jan. 18-20, 2006.
• Gobert tallied three offensive boards in the first quarter of tonight’s game, marking the 26th quarter this season with 3+ offensive boards in the opening frame. Only Portland’s Donovan Clingan (33) and New York’s Mitchel Robinson (27) have recorded more quarters with 3+ offensive rebounds in the NBA this season.
• Reid added 14 points and a season-high 13 rebounds, marking his sixth double-double of the season off the bench (14th career), only Miami’s Kel’el Ware (9) and Milwaukee’s Bobby Portis (8) entered the day with more double-doubles off the bench this season.
• Tonight marked Reid’s 400th career game off the bench, becoming the second player in franchise history to play 400+ games off the bench, joining Sam Mitchell (466). Reid is the only player in NBA history to make 500+ threes (720 currently) and block 300+ shots (345 currently) in the first 400 bench games of their career. Similarly, Reid is the only player in NBA history to make 500+ threes and have 1800+ rebounds (1,881 currently) in the first 400 bench games of their career.
Team Notes
• The Timberwolves fell behind to start overtime after the Rockets went on a 13-0 run. Minnesota was able to answer with their own 15-0 run on their way to the win. Since the start of the play-by-play era (2002-03), no other team in NBA history has come back to win a game after falling behind by 13+ points in overtime.
• Additionally, per Sportradar, the Wolves’ 13-point overtime comeback was the largest in NBA history dating back to the 1996-97 season.
• Tonight’s win against Houston marked the 25th home win of the season, improving to 25-13 at Target Center on the year. This is the third consecutive season in which the Wolves have won 25 or more games at home and have now done so in four out of the last five seasons. Minnesota has recorded 25+ home wins in three straight seasons for the first time since doing so in three consecutive seasons from 1999-2002.
• The Wolves ended the night with 11 steals, marking the 27th game this season they recorded 10+ steals. They also recorded 12 blocks, marking the seventh game this season with 10+ blocks. Tonight was the fifth game this season in which Minnesota finished with 10+ steals and 10+ blocks, the most such games in the NBA this season.
• Minnesota had 11 more field goal attempts than Houston in tonight’s 1st quarter (29-18), tied for their largest differential in any quarter this season (3x MR: Feb. 6 at New Orleans; fourth quarter – 24-13).
• The Timberwolves outscored the Rockets 62-50 in the paint tonight, marking the 12th time this season in which Minnesota scored 60+ points down low, improving to 10-2 when doing so.
• The Timberwolves recorded their second consecutive and 14th double-digit comeback of the season.
