The Minnesota Timberwolves announced the team has acquired forwards John Konchar and Cody Williams from the Utah Jazz in exchange for guard Josh Green and cash considerations.
Konchar, 30, has appeared in 363 career games (65 starts) in eight NBA seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies and Jazz, averaging 4.3 points on 46.9% shooting, 4.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 17.6 minutes per game. Last season, the 6-5 forward split time with the Grizzlies and Jazz after being traded to Utah on Feb. 3, appeared in 56 games (eight starts) and averaged 4.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 19.9 minutes per game.
Williams, 21, has appeared in 117 career games (62 starts) in two NBA seasons with the Jazz, averaging 7.0 points on 41.9% shooting, 2.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 23.0 minutes per game. Last season with the Jazz, the 6-8 forward played in a career-high 67 games (41 starts) and averaged a career-best 8.8 points on 46.8% shooting, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 24.3 minutes per game. Williams’ best game of his career came last season on March 15 at Sacramento when he finished with a career-high 34 points on 12-of-20 shooting, seven rebounds and seven assists.
The San Louis Obispo, Calif. native appeared in 24 games (18 starts) during his lone collegiate season at the University of Colorado in 2023-24, averaging 11.9 points on 55.2% shooting, 3.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 28.4 minutes per game. Williams was named to the 2024 Pac-12 All-Freshman Team.
Green, 25, has appeared in 349 regular season games (129 starts) in six NBA seasons with the Charlotte Hornets and Dallas Mavericks, averaging 6.3 points on 48.0% shooting, including 38.7% from deep, 2.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 21.0 minutes per game. Last season with the Hornets, the 6-8 forward played in 58 games and averaged 4.3 points on 45.9% shooting and 1.8 rebounds in 15.7 minutes per game. Green was acquired by the Timberwolves via a trade with the Hornets on July 10, 2026.
