(St. Paul, MN) — A 33-year-old St. Paul woman has been charged in a 21-year-old man’s stabbing death. The Ramsey County Attorney’s Office says Melissa Fostvedt stabbed Thomas Jenkins in her Hamline Avenue apartment. He died a short time later at a nearby hospital. Fostvedt says the couple had been arguing when Jenkins slipped on some water in the kitchen and fell on a knife. Police say there was no evidence of spilled water, and Fostvedt’s four-year-old told an interviewer from the Midwest Children’s Resource Center that “mommy stabbed” Jenkins.
