State fairgoers again this year can weigh-in on controversial issues being debated at the legislature by stopping at the Minnesota House and Senate booths. Not only are there surveys people can fill out, but Barry LaGrave with House Public Information Services says lawmakers are often available if citizens want to voice their opinions directly to a member of the House or Senate.
Among hot topics on this year’s House survey: Should criminal background checks be required for all gun sales? What about a gas tax increase, sick leave for all Minnesota workers, or a proposed “Right to Die” law? People can also give their opinions on a metro area sales tax, transgender restrooms, and whether it should be illegal to use a cell phone while driving.
