>>4-Year-Old Boy Injured in UTV Crash

(Becker County, MN) — A 4-year-old boy suffered potentially life-threatening injuries in a UTV accident. The Becker County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident north of Lake Park this morning (FRI). The boy was a passenger on a UTV driven by his 6-year-old brother on private property, without helmets, before the UTV left the road and hit a ditch. He was initially taken in a private vehicle before being intercepted by an ambulance, which brought him to a Fargo hospital.

>>Judge Accepts Warren Man’s Plea Deal in Wife’s Fatal Beating

(Warren, MN) — A district judge has approved a plea agreement from Anders Odegaard, a Warren, Minnesota man charged in the fatal beating of his wife. The 32-year-old will plead guilty to second-degree murder without intent while committing a felony, sparing Odegaard’s children from testifying, and will result in a sentence of over 18 years in prison. In August 2022, Marshall County deputies found 31-year-old Carissa Odegaard unresponsive with severe head trauma after a domestic dispute with her husband. Carissa later died from her injuries at a Fargo hospital. Odegaard is set to be sentenced on January 29th.

>>Pedestrian Found Dead in Fridley Suffered Gunshot Wound

(Fridley, MN) —   Anoka County authorities are investigating the death of a woman found lying in the street Thursday afternoon in Fridley.    Officers called to the report of a pedestrian hit-and-run crash and discovered 18-year-old Jayden Lee Kline injured at the scene.  Paramedics tried to save her, but Kline died in the hospital.    Investigators say they determined that Kline suffered a gunshot wound before the reported crash.   They say a 17-year-old boy was taken into custody last night.   Sheriff’s officials wouldn’t confirm whether Kline was hit by a vehicle.

>>Another Ice Rescue on Upper Red Lake

(Beltrami County, MN) — Three fishermen are safe after falling through the ice on Upper Red Lake last (Thurs) night. The Beltrami County Sheriff says a 9-1-1 caller reported an A-T-V and trailer combination broke through the ice and two people fell into the water. The two men were able to get back on top of the ice on their own.  Firefighters were able to get the men back to shore they were not hurt. They told first responders they went the wrong direction on their way back to a resort and broke through an ice pressure ridge.  This is the third time people needed assistance on Upper Red Lake this week. On Sunday night, first responders rescued 35 people stranded on a large ice chunk that broke from the shore. On Tuesday, a single-engine airplane carrying the pilot and one passenger broke through the ice. Other than cold exposure no one was hurt in any of the instances.

>>Fatal Crash Kills Wykoff Woman in Fillmore County

(Fillmore County, MN) — A Wykoff woman is dead after a crash in Fillmore County Thursday. Authorities from the Fillmore County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash around 9:30 p.m. Deputies found 27-year-old Jessica Aspenwall dead in her pickup. Officials say Aspenwall was traveling west on County Road 4 near Sumner when her pickup veered off the road and crashed. The victim was the sole occupant of the pickup at the time of the crash.
