Gov. Mark Dayton in Rochester Wednesday
Governor Mark Dayton continues his statewide sweep today, pushing Republicans to agree to a bonding bill for state public works projects that the legislature couldn’t pass in the closing minutes of the 2016 session. Dayton wants agreement before calling a special session and today he’s in Moorhead talking about college building upgrades and in Worthington asking lawmakers for money to finish the Lewis and Clark water system. In Rochester yesterday the governor said he’s “thrilled” about Mayo Clinic’s plans for an urban bioscience campus, arguing the legislature must now also designate money for a new Health Sciences Building on the U-of-M’s Minneapolis campus, so Minnesota can be a magnet for medical technology companies and the good jobs they provide.
