Gopher Athletics announced today the game themes for the 2024 football season, which begins on Thursday, August 29 when Minnesota hosts North Carolina at Huntington Bank Stadium. Season tickets are available now and single game tickets will be available in July.
The 2024 football game themes are listed below.
August 29 vs. North Carolina – Gold Out
Fans are encouraged to wear Gold for the 2024 home opener against North Carolina.
September 7 vs. Rhode Island – High School Band, Dance and Cheer Day
High school marching bands and spirit squads are invited to participate in the Gopher football pregame and halftime festivities. Minnesota High Schools interested in learning more can reach out to mnmarch@umn.edu or gopherspiritsquad@gmail.com
September 14 vs. Nevada – F.A.M.I.L.Y. Game
Minnesota welcomes Nevada to Huntington Bank Stadium for the 2024 Gopher Football F.A.M.I.L.Y. Game! Exclusive family friendly ticket options and gameday experiences will be available throughout Gopher Garden and Huntington Bank Stadium!
September 21 vs. Iowa – Maroon Out
It’s a Maroon out for Floyd! Minnesota looks to retain the iconic Floyd of Rosedale trophy as the Gophers and Hawkeyes battle for the 98-pound bronze pig, and Gopher fans are encouraged to wear Maroon.
Celebrate Food & Ag Day returns to Gopher Football in 2024! In collaboration with the University’s College of Food, Agriculture, and Natural Resource Sciences (CFANS) as well as numerous agribusinesses from throughout the state of Minnesota; Gopher football will highlight the innovation and resiliency of the agriculture and food industry throughout gameday.
October 5 vs. Southern California (USC) – Stripe Out
Fans are encouraged to wear either Maroon or Gold based on their seating location, as each section in Huntington Bank Stadium will be assigned a color to complete the Stripe Out. Fans can use these links to shop for Maroon or Gold gear.
Parent & Family Weekend is a great time to visit campus and enjoy some of the amazing activities and to explore the day-to-day life of your student.
October 26 vs. Maryland – Homecoming
Minnesota’s week-long Homecoming celebration will culminate with the football game where royalty selections will be announced at halftime.
November 23 vs. Penn State – Senior Day / Salute to Service
Gopher football is honoring all active duty and retired service members.
Start times for home football games will be announced in the future.
